What does SPEAK Music do?

SPEAK Music is a publicity and promotions company. We help promote artists in a variety of ways, working directly with artists, labels, managers and not-for-profit music organizations. SPEAK Music also has an interest in giving back to the music community, so we create and invest in grassroots music projects, special events, fundraising concerts, festivals and open stages.

What is publicity?

Publicity is getting stories in print, interviews on television or radio and critical reviews of music. We help artists reach the media and the media reach artists. We write press releases, we send out packages and we follow up. If you have an interesting story or your music is newsworthy, the media will be interested and may give you some ink or air time. It's that simple...or not:) There are never any guarantees. With that said, SPEAK Music does guarantee measures and quality work.

What is promotion?

Promotion is the activity of promoting and often refers to the strategic creation of opportunities to reach large audiences. Promotion includes special events, radio play, showcasing, email newsletters, parties, contests, telemarketing, flyers, posters, advertising, etc. At SPEAK Music, we help promote music in a wide variety of ways.

Will you work with all genres or do you only represent singer songwriters?

SPEAK Music works with a variety of genres, specializing in folk, roots, world, jazz, pop and rock. We are open to working with any artist or business who requires our services. New artists must prepare for publicity and develop their music, performance and products. When working with new artists, we work on artist development projects on a consultation basis, until they are ready to be professionally represented. This is a people business, so personality and work ethic are most important when entering a working relationship with us.

Can I send you my package?

No. Please email us an introduction in one paragraph or less, a website link, phone number where you can be reached during office hours and someone will respond within two business days.

Will you review my CD?

Yes and no. We will review your CD in the context of an artist development consultation appointment.
